My name is Jayme. I was born and raised in New Jersey and moved to San Diego at the end of 2024. Movement has always been a part of my life. I grew up dancing from elementary school through college, and yoga first entered my world as part of my dance warm-up in middle school, thanks to my teacher who had just completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training (Dyana, if you’re reading this for some reason, I love you). That introduction planted a seed that would grow into a lifelong practice and passion.
As a former dancer, I’ve navigated all the classic challenges—perfectionism, disordered eating, being my own toughest critic. But it was yoga that taught me the importance of balance. I’ve come to understand that movement should be both joyful and freeing—not just about pushing limits, but about finding harmony between strength and flexibility. True balance isn’t about choosing one over the other in different moments; it’s about integrating stability and ease in a way that feels both sustainable and empowering. My approach to yoga is rooted in these values, creating classes that encourage mindful movement, breath awareness, and a deeper connection to the body.
There was a time in my life when I felt completely disconnected—physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. I was at my lowest, unsure of how to move forward, when someone I love took a chance on me and paid for my first yoga teacher training. That act of generosity changed everything.
I’ll never forget coming home from my first day of training and crying—not out of overwhelm, but because, for the first time in a long time, I knew I was exactly where I needed to be. Through that training, I deepened my yoga practice beyond the physical postures, and in doing so, transformed my mind, my life, and the way I show up in the world.
Since then, I’ve gone on to complete an additional 300-hour training, earn a Yoga + 12-Step Recovery certification, and teach on retreats around the world.
I was born to tell stories and use my voice, and guiding people in their yoga practice allows me to express that part of myself in a deeply meaningful way. I know firsthand how much yoga has transformed my life and my mental health, and sharing that gift with others is what drives me.
Teaching for organizations like The Phoenix and Sea Change Recovery Community Organization has been some of the most rewarding work of my life. I love connecting with people from all walks of life and making yoga truly accessible, because yoga is for EVERYONE.
In my classes, we’ll always laugh, you’ll always be supported, and my goal is for you to leave feeling better than when you stepped onto your mat...stronger, lighter, and a little more at home in yourself.
